Does Your Extrovert/Introvert Personality Affect your L2 Learning?

I really love this week reading material!

We discuss about affective and personality differences whether it will affect second language (L2 learning). I’m always interested in psychology, so when the topic is about character, I couldn’t be more excited!

In this post, the topic that I discuss is from classroom discussion and from Ortega’s book: Understanding Second Language Acquisition (chapter 9), which actually you could download for free at b-ok.xyz. But I would not discuss everything, I will only focus on the extrovert and introvert personality. *I adore that website, anyway, since they always provide a range of materials that I could download for my assignments.

Second year! (and how I study in Monash)

Halo! Sedangkan maghrib pukul 17.20-an.

Padahal, bukan berarti aku ngga belajar gaes, tapi masa iya aku upload tiap kali aku lagi belajar, kan ngga enak. Tapi ternyata upload stories jalan-jalan juga salah ya, haha! Oke, akan aku kurangi upload stories ya gaes.

Budaya Titip Absen

Bahkan kadang kalau aku absen menulis, aku merasa terlalu banyak hal di pikiranku, and I just want to let it all out.

Perkara Daftar Hadir

Who likes swimming?

Did you know that Monash University has Water Wise program? It is a sports program that teaches you to swim from the beginning, and it’s free for undergrads and postgrads students. Even more, they have Water Women! Water woman is held every Saturday night 6pm-8pm. It is only woman who can enter the Doug Ellis swimming pool. The staff and the trainers are also women. So, of course, I’m taking the women-only class on Saturday at 7pm.

I joined Water Wise program last semester. They put me in introductory level. I can swim breaststroke though, but apparently, they teach freestyle. Lucky me! At that time I only joined the class for like 5-6 times because I went back to Indonesia, it was summer holiday. Then, I didn’t practice it for four months straight (haha!). Yet, I was able to kick, and I know how I should move my hands. I was also quite good at backstroke; it’s when you swim by lying on the back.  Continue reading

Studying at Monash University

Hi guys!

I talked about the differences between studying at Indonesia and Australian uni here.  it was about how the lecturers greet us, how do we should call lecturer, some rules including attendance list, coming late to the class, and how to dress up, and about the reading list. Now I’d like to explain more detail about my experiences at Monash University (so far).

1. Library

Firstly, it is the library. Monash has several libraries and you may visit the page here. I study at Monash Clayton where there are three libraries here, that is Matheson Library, Law Library, and Hargrave-Andrew Library. The library which I’ve visited the most is Matheson. Continue reading

Studying at Indonesia Uni vs Australia Uni

G’day mate!

Today I’m going to talk about the differences between studying at Indonesia Uni and Australia Uni. This is based on my under graduate experience at Universitas Brawijaya and currently, I’m studying Applied linguistics at Monash University. I will generalize what’s happen if you study in Indonesia and Australia, but maybe you could have the different experience with me. So if you want to disagree with what I’m saying, you can drop a comment below!

So, shall we start?
