Some Challenging Things of Being a Lecturer

This article has been on my draft for a couple of months. I only wrote some main ideas but I did not finish it. I guess at that time I was in the middle of something else. This article is my thoughts and reflection of being a lecturer for around seven or eight months now.

By writing this, it does not mean that I already know everything about being a lecturer. I’m literally still a noob lecturer and I still have to learn a lot from my students and my colleagues. I wrote this because I have never thought that being a lecturer, my what-so-called dream job back then, would be like this. I wrote this because I admire all of my lecturers and teachers who have taught me. For me, they are strong and amazing people. They teach and take care of their students, and still they have to take care of their family at home. I mean, it is not easy, believe me.

So, here are my lists about some hard parts of being a lecturer. This is solely my opinion. If you are a lecturer or a teacher, you obviously can have different opinions. Mau Sukses Kapan?

Aku menulis ini gara-gara ada mahasiswaku yang bertanya, “Miss, apa Bahasa Inggrisnya, mau sukses kapan?”

“Hah, gimana maksudnya?”

“Ya mau sukses kapan gitu lo, miss. Habis lulus apa gimana?”

Aku pun berfikir keras. “Sukses kan bisa kapan aja”

Dia kayaknya juga berfikir keras. Aku berfikir keras lagi, “When will you are going to be succeed? Ih aneh, ga ada di Bahasa Inggris”.
